Pickens Comments on Departing QPR

-
Chicago Tribune Blog/Luis Arroyave - Pickens released by QPR

Former Fire goalkeeper Matt Pickens was released by Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday. The Championship club chose not to extend Pickens' contract, which began in February and ends in June.
In his first season with QPR, Pickens played three reserve games but saw no first team minutes. He missed the final three weeks of the season with a separated shoulder.
When I spoke to Pickens last week, he admitted he was unsure about his future with the club.
"We have wealthy guys at the top now who throw money around," Pickens said. "I don't think anybody is safe."
The former Fire goalkeeper was one of five QPR players let go.
"I would consider any league in Europe," Pickens said about his future. "Playing in different leagues in Europe would give me good experience and an overall better game. I would see different playing styles and it would make me more experienced.
"If there was a chance to play in Germany, I would do it."
Pickens plans on returning to the United States soon and may even stop by Chicago for a Fire game.
What's the first thing he wants to do when he gets back to the U.S.?
"I'll hit up Chipotle," Pickens responded. "I'm addicted. I also can't wait to see some sunshine. "I'm pretty white." Chicago Tribune Blog
