Ben Kosky/Kilburn Times - Bolder: Camp fire's still burning
- ADAM Bolder is shocked at QPR's decision to ditch Lee Camp - but believes his friend and team-mate will be a hit at Nottingham Forest.
- Camp was ever-present in the Rangers goal last season and one of their most consistent players, but was allowed to sign a three-month loan deal at Forest on Monday after losing his place to Radek Cerny.
- And the out-of-favour Bolder - who, like Camp, became a victim of the club's revolving door transfer policy last season - is puzzled by the Rs' willingness to let the goalkeeper leave.
- "I'm very surprised," Bolder told the Times. "He signed a long-term contract last season, so it seems strange for him to be allowed to go out on loan now.
"Campy's a very good keeper, an England under-21 international and he's not really had a chance this season. He's stayed optimistic, thinking he was going to get a chance, but it hasn't happened.
"That's just the way the club is at the moment and people have their own opinions. But I don't think he can see his QPR career as definitely over - things can change in football and, if Cerny got injured, he'd be called back.
- "I'm sure he'll go and do well at Forest, they're struggling at the moment but it's ideal for him to play some games and be near his family as well.
- "As an ex-Derby player, he might get a bit of stick from the Forest fans but, if he plays as he can do, they'll love him - and I'm sure a lot of other clubs will be in for him then as well."
- The 24-year-old keeper has always been a popular figure with QPR fans ever since his first spell with the club as a teenager, when a string of superb performances on loan helped the Rs win promotion from Division Two in 2004.
- He rejoined on loan three years later and completed a £300,000 move at the start of last season, but has inexplicably fallen from favour this term, making just one appearance in the Carling Cup at Swindon.
- Forest, who completed the loan deal after their 2-1 defeat at Loftus Road on Saturday, will have an option to sign Camp permanently when the January transfer window opens.
- Camp is staying in Bolder's Derby home during his loan back in the East Midlands, but the midfielder may soon require new accommodation himself after QPR informed him he was free to leave the club on loan.
- Like Camp, Bolder joined Rangers while his ex-Derby boss John Gregory was in charge and began last season as club captain, but failed to impress Gregory's successor Luigi de Canio.
- He spent the second half of last season on loan to Sheffield Wednesday and was offered three moves away from Loftus Road in the summer, but QPR refused to release him for nothing at that point.- "I think if De Canio had still been in charge, I would have gone in the summer," Bolder admitted. "But the new manager felt I'd done well in pre-season and didn't want to let me go.
- "I had opportunities to go to three other Championship clubs, but QPR wouldn't let me go - and they wanted money for me as well, which was a stumbling block.
"Now I've been told I can go, but it's frustrating that I had a chance to play in the Championship and wasn't able to take it.
"I'd still prefer to play at this level, but if a League One team who were going for promotion came in, I'd look at it.
"For my part, it's been very frustrating, but it's a case of being patient, playing it by ear and seeing if we can get something sorted out quickly." Kilburn Times
