Peterborough Say Not Selling Joe Lewis

Peterborough have issued a hands-off warning after Craig Mackail-Smith and Joe Lewis were linked with moves to Championship clubs.
Both Cardiff and Birmingham have been linked with moves for striker Mackail-Smith, while there is speculation that 'keeper Lewis could join QPR.
But Posh director of football Barry Fry told skysports.com that the pair are going nowhere.
He said: "Craig has started off the season well with eight goals in 10 league games, but it's not just his goalscoring that he brings to the table as he creates a lot of opportunities for others.
"We had a bid of a million pounds offered to us a year ago for him, which we turned down flat, and we are not interested in selling our best players.
"We are trying to build a team here capable of winning promotion and Craig is part of that, so we won't be looking to sell him any time in the near future."
Fry is also adamant that the club will keep hold of Lewis, despite the shotstopper being linked to QPR, who will need a replacement if Lee Camp leaves Loftus Road.
He said: "Joe is part of the side and we don't want to let any of our players leave the club.

"The board have backed the manager all the way and have proven, by rejecting big offers for both Mackail-Smith and Aaron McLean, that they have the backbone to keep our stars here and they will continue to support Darren (Ferguson) in his ambition to gain promotion." Sky Sports

"...With QPR assistant manager - and former Wolves goalkeeper - Tim Flowers along with Cardiff boss Dave Jones watching, it would be hard to see either of Peterborough’s stars staying at London Road long term." - Report
