Burnley Official Site - Coyle Eyes Changes For QPR
Owen Coyle could be forced into several changes for Tuesday's tricky trip to QPR (NOTE: kick off 8pm).
The Clarets boss today (Monday) revealed that David Unsworth, who made his 500th club career appearance at the weekend, was laid low with a bug.
Chris McCann, meanwhile, faces a late fitness test on his injured groin.
Coyle explained: "We are always thinking about team changes, and system changes because of all eventualities.
"As is it, I would think there could be a couple of changes. David had a bug all weekend and is confined to bed, so we will need to see how he is and Chris will have a late fitness test, but remains doubtful at the moment.
"We will take stock accordingly after training on Monday, but we are getting close to having good competition in every position now and so I suppose having no league game this weekend will serve us well.
"Those are the type of problems you want to have.
If it's easy to pick your 11 every week, you know you haven't got strength in depth. That's not the case.
"Every week there are big decisions to make, and there will be even tougher ones to come when we start to get Clarke Carlisle, Alan Mahon and the other boys back."
Coyle revealed that Carlisle could even make his tentative comeback in Friday's friendly against Bohemians in Dublin.
The former QPR defender is now back in training after missing every game in 2008 so far with a hamstring problem.
