MK Dons, managed by Martin Allen (and owned by Pete Winkelman, who tried to buy QPR), drew 0-0 at Shrewsbury in the first leg of the playoffs Semi-Final. In goal for MK Dons, ex-QPR, Ademole Bankole. On the bench: ex QPR, Lee Harper - along with ex-loans at QPR, Leon Knight and Lloyd Dyer. BBC
Danny Dichio, playing in the USA (actually Canada!) in the MLS scored for Toronto and was also sent off. "Striker Dichio, playing just his second game in MLS after being acquired on April 19, made no mistake in knocking it home for the historic goal that gave Toronto a 1-0 lead...Dichio made some more TFC history just before the end of the half, though in a much less creditable category, when he became the first Toronto player to be sent off after a near-brawl developed in the Chicago goalmouth in the 44th minute. A shoving match in front of the Fire goal between Dichio and Fire 'keeper Matt Pickens resulted in a scrum that involved nearly every member of both teams. The skirmish resulted in both sides being reduced to 10 men, as both Dichio and Gutierrez were sent off." MLS Report
Birthdays today: Ex-QPR defender, Garry Chivers, who turns 47. Signed by Terry Venables from Chelsea on a free in February 1984. Chivers was at QPR till September 1987. - Birthday
Mark Kennedy who turns 31, who had a brilliant brief period on loan at QPR (from Liverpool) in 1997-1998 under Ray Harford. There were hopes we'd be signing him. Unfortunately QPR and Liverpool couldnt agree/Liverpool wanted him back...and a few months later, Kennedy joined Wimbledon. Later the ex-Millwall player joined Manchester City and then Wolves and he is now at Crystal Palace.
At QPR, Kennedy played 8 games and scored twice. His final game was QPR's 5-0 win vs Middlesbrough. Profile
The court case involving Ian Dowie (being sued by Crystal Palace), continues. Court

A couple of Recent Birthdays:
Former QPR Goalie, Peter Springett (RIP, died in 1998).(May 8, 1946)
Peter Springett, brother of former QPR and England goalie, Ron Springett, played for QPR in the early-to mid 1960s (including the 1966/67 Division 3 Championship team and the League Cup Final). Peter Springett then was sold to Sheffield Wednesday with brother Ron Springett returning to QPR from Sheffield Wednesday as partial payment. After retiring from football, Peter Springett became a policeman.
Tony Sealy Born May 7, 1959.
Signed by Terry Venables from Crystal Palace a few months after he joined QPR, Sealy played a few games that season (1980-1981) and a handful of games in our Cup Final season (not playing in any of the Cup games). But the following season, Sealy played a major role in our winning the 1982/1983 Championship and ended up as QPR's top goalscorer with 16 goals in 39 games.
In our season back in the First Division, Sealy played a few games, before being sold to Fulham.
