- The chances of De Canio and strange alliances
Friday October 26, 2007
In the afternoon a uggioso Friday of the end of October is the official arrives: "Luigi De Canio is the new coach of Queens Park Rangers." Flavio Briatore (with the participation of Bernie Ecclestone) so focused on technical Matera, stalled since the end of the 2005-2006 season to revive his team in the Championship, the series B English. Apparently all quiet, with the man who succeeded to save the Siena relegation by a couple of seasons ago, in place of Mick Harford, who ferryman exemption after John Gregory, had managed to strike a victory and two draws. Not enough.
The rotation, however, deserves a double reflection: De Canio has' burned 'on the home straight wire Francesco Guidolin, a former engineer from Palermo estimated but obviously not considered technical' first band '(we could remake in Parma if it is blown up 'Mimmo Di Carlo). Many beautiful experience (the miracle Vicenza with the conquest of the Italian Cup, Bologna, basically the last Palermo), but not enough for the leap in quality. It is also true that the Qpr-last in the chart - is still a challenge. The same reasoning that led De Canio to accept the proposal. Despite malelingue.
. Already the 'chat' collaboration between former Juventus CEO Antonio Giraudo with the English club (denied by Briatore) it circulates in fact another equally evocative. What good De Canio was pushed Oltremanica for some alliances market which would lead to the old management Juventus. . In short courses and appeals, perhaps by bar-sport stuff. Tanto alla fine contano sempre i tre punti... Both at the end always count three points ... Report

Report
CLUBCALL - R's deflect De Canio link
QPR have refused to be drawn on reports that former Siena coach Luigi De Canio has been approached to become their new manager.
The R's have yet to find a full-time successor to John Gregory, who was sacked earlier this month, but have been linked with a host of potential candidates significantly with experience in Italy.
The Championship's basement club had wanted to bring in former Palermo coach Francesco Guidolin but talks aimed at handing him the Loftus Road reins broke down.
Mick Harford has been placed in charge as a stop-gap but reports in Italy claim that club officials contacted 50-year-old De Canio on Thursday and that he was prepared to sign a two-year deal
QPR, recently bought by Formula One magnates Flavio Briatore and Bernie Ecclestone, have yet to comment on the speculation. Clubcall
The Times - QPR ready to appoint De Canio
Times Online and Agencies
Flavio Briatore and Bernie Ecclestone, the new owners of Queens Park Rangers, want to install Luigi De Canio as their new coach.
Reports in the Italian media say that they have offered the Italian coach a two-year contract to fill the role that John Gregory vacated earlier this month.
De Canio has coached at Udinese, Napoli, Reggina, Genoa and most recently Siena, who he helped keep in Serie A for two consecutive seasons before leaving. He had been linked with Livorno and Parma in recent months.
Briatore and Ecclestone had been linked with moves for Gianluca Vialli and Franesco Guidolin. The Times
