The Man with the record: Alan Wilks!

October 10, 1967: Alan Wilks, QPR's backup for Rodney Marsh, scored a record five goals (a record for QPR - and a then-League Cup Record) in QPR's 5-1 win vs Oxford United (then still in the Football League) at Loftus Road before a crowd of just under 17,000. (QPR at the time, were of course, the League Cup Holders)

Alan Wilks Details
Alan Wilks just turned sixty-one. Born October 5, 1946
Wilks was known as Rodney Marsh's "understudy" which was a big burden to bear. Signed from Chelsea on a free in May 1965. Joined Gillingham in July 1971. Played his most QPR games in 1967/68 and 1968/69. Wilks played in QPR's first ever game in the First Division (home to Leicester). That season, played 17+3 games, scoring 5 goals (including one at Highbury, coming on as a sub and scoring with his first kick of the game - QPR lost 2-1.
