From Queen's Park Rangers to Queens Park Rangers

Update: Just to note that the two books on QPR by "Club Historian," Gordon Macey are entitled: "The Official History of Queen's Park Rangers" and "Queen's Park Rangers: A Complete Record."

Over the years, Queen's Park Rangers has "evolved" into Queens Park Rangers.
Old QPR programmes from the 1960s (and here and here - and the 1967 League Cup Final programme itself, and photos etc call the club QUEEN'S Park Rangers. At some point not long after, the club seems to have officially become QUEENS Park Ranger (without the apostrophe). An early 1970s programme.

The Official Site's "Potted History of QPR" doesn't mentio this. It begins:
"Queens Park Rangers were formed in 1882 by the old boys of Droop Street Board School.
The boys were members of the St Jude's Institute as they used this as the club headquarters, and in the early days were known as St Judes.
They obtained the name of Queens Park Rangers when they merged with a team called Christchurch Rangers in 1886. They called themselves Queens Park Rangers because most of the players came from the district of Queens Park..." QPR official site
