Past and Prospective QPR: Gorkss Update...Curtiss Trial Game...Cole Debut

-
Blackpool Gazette - New twists in Gorkss QPR bid
The future of Kaspars Gorkss is still up in the air, with his drawn out move to QPR taking a new twist every day.
The defender is still a Blackpool player but he isn't on the tour of Latvia and is odds on to be playing his football elsewhere next season.
But just where he'll end up is anyone's guess. QPR are claiming that a deal is 'almost complete', and are so confident that they even released a statement suggesting the move is imminent.
It read: "Queens Park Rangers FC have been given permission to speak to Blackpool defender Kaspars Gorkss.
"The 26-year-old has agreed personal terms and the deal is expected to be finalised early next week."
However, Seasiders chairman Oyston, who is angry at QPR for what he claims is an illegal approach, responded by insisting: "We definitely have not given them permission to speak to him. I'm disappointed once again with the way they've gone about their business."
According to rumours, Gorkss has been offered more than £15,000 a week by QPR, who are now the richest club in football after being taken over by Formula One billionaires Flavio Briatore and Bernie Ecclestone.
That kind of money talks and it seems a matter of time before the transfer goes through, with Rangers striker Daniel Nardiello coming to Bloomfield Road as well as £200,000.

Andy Morrell, yet to sign a new contract with the Seasiders, is continuing to train with the club and was a spectator at the Fleetwood game. Blackpool Gazette

John Curtiss at Tranmere - Match Report

Liverpool Daily Post/Nick Hilton - Moore ready to switch around Rovers tactics
RONNIE MOORE intends to change the tactical shape of Tranmere’s football in the forthcoming season.
Saturday’s sold-out friendly against Liverpool provided a first opportunity to test out the 4-3-3 system he plans to adopt in the League One campaign. It was, he acknowledged, a baptism of fire for his players....
Experienced right-back John Curtis, who has been training with Tranmere throughout the past fortnight on a trial basis, was the sharpest of the new faces.
Moore was positive about the prospect of the 30-year-old former Manchester United, Nottingham Forest and QPR player becoming part of his plans.
He said: “John has good experience, having played at Championship level with Forest. He was at QPR and Preston last year. I thought he did well. He is confident on the ball. There is plenty to work with.”...

On-Loan-to-Oxford, Jake Cole Made His Oxford Debut

Oxford Mail - Patterson has mixed feelings - Oxford United boss Darren Patterson had mixed feelings after his side lost 2-1 Southern League Brackley on Saturday.
An almost full-strength first-half line-up went into the break 1-0 up, but a poor second-half display from a side comprising youth players, trialists and only three senior pros saw Brackley storm back for victory.
"It was an excellent workout - I thought it was a great game," said Patterson.
"We had a strong side out in the first half.
"In the second half , we had a mix of players who hadn't played for two years, some young lads and some trialists....
