Teamtalk- - Ephraim praise for Dowie regime
QPR winger Hogan Ephraim is feeling the strain of ain Dowie's regime - but is sure the squad will reap the benefit of the manager's methods.
Rangers returned to pre-season training this week with Dowie overseeing what Ephraim believes is a far more professional approach.
"It's been hard work but that is what is needed," he told the club's official website.
"He's enthusiastic and puts in a lot of effort and energy - it's the most professional the club has been since I've been here.
"He won't let your standards drop, it's more organised and professional now. It's going to a tough six weeks but at the end of it we will all feel the benefit." Teamtalk
PR Week/Clare O'Connor- Gulf Air hires in-house PR chief
Gulf Air has hired a UK PR veteran as its new director of corporate comms on the back of its sponsorship of football team Queen's Park Rangers.
The national airline of Bahrain has brought in Alec Peck, who has worked at Edelman, Burson-Marsteller and Text 100 in London. His most recent position was at Hill & Knowlton, where he headed up the Bahrain and Saudi Arabia offices.
Peck will lead Gulf Air’s in-house comms effort to capitalise on its record £7m, three-year shirt sponsorship of London’s QPR, which was announced last week with a press conference. The football club’s co-owner Flavio Briatore called the Gulf Air deal ‘a strong sponsorship with a strong brand’. PR
Clint Morrison...This is Local London/Graham Moody "Warnock targeting strikers"
Neil Warnock has targeted a striker as his next signing with news that Clinton Morrison is unlikely to return to Selhurst Park.
Crystal Palace's top scorer last season with 16 goals has failed to agree a new contract with the club and the offer of a new two-year deal expired last Monday.
He failed to report for pre-season training on Wednesday, although he was under no obligation to, and has been linked with a move Queens' Park Rangers to link up with former Palace manager Iain Dowie.
Morrison decision to depart his boyhood club for the second time leaves Warnock with only 32-year-old James Scowcroft, veteran Dougie Freedman and out of favour Shefki Kuqi...However, he didn't rule out the prospect of Morrison returning should he not agree terms with another club.
He said: "He has not been training and his contract ended last week. The offer ran out last Monday and we are talking to his agent but I think they are talking to two or three other clubs at the minute."
Morrison will end his Palace career level with Mark Bright as the club's fourth top goalscorer of all time, with 113 strikes in 316 appearances. This is local London
