Obviously an impossibility because it's been categorically stated on QPR messageboards that Gorkss to QPR is an absolute, categorical done deal (and even more than that!}. Although as this has dragged on and on, various posts have suggested something else. The article also speaks of QPR "are understood to be offering him eye-watering wages" which is at least the second article which spoke of the high wage QPR were offering Gorkss.
[As the club in its second pronouncement on Gorkss announced, July 4 (which appears to be no longer posted on the Official site) "QPR Official Site: " "KASPARS GORKSS UPDATE - Queens Park Rangers Football Club have been given permission to speak to Blackpool defender Kaspars Gorkss. The 26 year-old has agreed personal terms with the R's and the deal is expected to be finalised early next week. The Latvian international has been with the Seasiders since January 2007." Meanwhile the original June 12 QPR statement is still on the site.]
Blackpool Gazette - Norwich may hijack OPR bid for Gorkss
Norwich City could be about to make a fresh move for Kaspars Gorkss in a bid to hijack QPR's attempts to sign the Seasiders centre back.
The Gorkss-QPR switch is still in no-man's land.
QPR were convinced they had got their man, even offering striker Daniel Nardiello as a goodwill gesture on top of the £250,000 required to spark a get-out clause in Gorkss' contract.
But Karl Oyston, angry at how Rangers have gone about trying to complete the transfer, is refusing to sanction the move.
There are even reports that the chairman has ordered Gorkss back to Blackpool to join in pre-season training.
That is unlikely to happen because Gorkss appears to have made up his mind to leave the club.
And his first choice remains QPR, where the new super rich club of British football are understood to be offering him eye-watering wages.
However, the lack of progress on a deal has been noted by other Championship clubs and Norwich boss Glenn Roeder is understood to be one manager tempted to wade into the Gorkss scrap and make a bid.
Roeder currently has only Jason Shackell - subject of a £1m bid from Wolves - and Gary Doherty as senior recognised centre halves in his revamped squad. Blackpool Gazette
From Yesterday's QPR Official Site: Part III of the Les Ferdinand Interview - Perhaps putting it a little strongly "Les Ferdinand has yet again reiterated his love for all things QPR."
SIR LES SPEAKS: PART THREE
Les Ferdinand has yet again reiterated his love for all things QPR.
Speaking exclusively to www.qpr.co.uk, Sir Les - who scored 90 goals in all competitions for the R's during a distinguished playing career in W12 - expressed his admiration for the Club where he made his breakthrough into the professional ranks.
"Everybody always asks where my affinity lies having played for some top Clubs, but QPR was where it started for me. Unfortunately it wasn't where it ended, but they will always hold a very fond place in my heart.
"I had a great eight years here and then went to Newcastle. They were the greatest Club I played for because I had successful times there, whereas we struggled a bit here. But everyone knows QPR are my Club and I've always said that."
Ferdinand believes it's 'only a matter of time' before the R's return to the top-flight, and admits nothing would give him greater pleasure than seeing the Super Hoops back in the Premiership.
"It would be great to see the Club back in the Premiership," he said.
"That's the one hope I've always had since the day I left here, and since the day the Club got relegated.
"I want to see us back competing with the big boys again and with the backing they've got here now, it doesn't appear to be impossible. Nothing would give me greater pleasure than seeing the R's back in the Premiership
