Michael Mancienne, QPR's England U-21, season-long loan from Chelsea, who also spent most of last season at QPR (and hopefully is a forthocming permanent QPR player)turns 20 today: Born January 8, 1988.

Playing a second season on loan in the Championship at QPR, Michael was picked up by Chelsea as an eight year-old and made his debut in the reserves whilst still a schoolboy.
He is a composed and elegant centre-back who can also play in midfield or at right-back and having turned professional in January 2006, was named on the bench for the first team for the final game of the 2005/6 season but was not called into action.
He was also an unused sub in the 2006 Community Shield before playing 30 games at Loftus Road last campaign. In a special month of August, he signed a new three-year contract and made his debut for England Under 21s. Chelsea

QPR agreed a 12-month loan deal with Chelsea for defender Michael Mancienne in the summer of 2007.
Described by John Gregory as one of 'England and Chelsea's brightest young talents,' the teenage defender - who was an unused substitute for Chelsea in the 2006 Community Shield match versus Liverpool - initially joined the R's in mid-October 2007 on a one month loan deal.
Mancienne was solid as a rock in his first few appearances in the Championship and soon put pen to paper on a deal until the end of the season.
Despite missing the final six fixtures of the season, owing to a facial injury sustained against Preston North End, the popular defender was runner-up in the Supporters' Young Player of the Year category.
Mancienne made 30 appearances in all competitions for the R's last season.
