Daily Mirror - Hoddle in line for QPR top job
Qpr want Glenn Hoddle to take over as manager at Loftus Road.
Rangers have approached the former England boss after cooling their interest in Glenn Roeder.
The Championship club's ambitious new owners - a group fronted by Formula One magnates Bernie Ecclestone and Flavio Briatore - were keen to appoint a top foreign coach.
Then former QPR defender Roeder emerged as a genuine contender despite troubled spells as manager of Newcastle, West Ham, Watford and Gillingham.
But Roeder's chances faded yesterday as the QPR board began to doubt his suitability for the job.
Hoddle is now their top target and he is likely to be made an offer if he shows an interest.
The 49-year-old's time with England, Tottenham and Wolves ended under a cloud. And Hoddle also made an unsuccessful bid to take over at Charlton two summers ago.
However, he is seen as the ideal man for Rangers in that he is a high-profile name who built the foundations for Chelsea's success and led Swindon to the top flight in his first managerial role. Mirror
