Ainsworth to be Named QPR Manager

-
According to the Sunday People
- "Gareth Ainsworth will this week be named QPR's new permanent manager." Sporting Life

The People 16 November 2008 - AINSWORTH TO GET NOD
Gareth Ainsworth is expected to be named as QPR's permanent manager this week, writes Dave Kidd.
The club's wealthy owners Flavio Briatore, Bernie Ecclestone and Lakshmi Mittal have been impressed by Ainsworth's spell as caretaker since the sacking of Iain Dowie three weeks ago.
Rangers' owners have put the brakes on player spending during the January transfer window and Briatore will publicly insist that Ainsworth, 35, has the final say in team selection. The People

Comments:
Impressed ?? Ainsworth is a great guy and qpr through and through but he is not the right choice to take the team forward , the football is as dire as when dowie was in charge and no different as the results show . How can they talk about not spending in january when they didn't spend a bean in the summer . I didn't buy 2 season tickets on the back of all the promises to watch the type of shit football we are served up every other week , god knows what it's like watching them away from home . For anyone that says again " don't forget where we were last year " - bollocks . Ainsworth is only being appointed because he allows briatore to have a major say in who plays , end of .

completeley agree with you hes not the guy to take us forward. i Think the juande ramos would make a good manager if he would take the job what do you think ??

I couldn't agree more! I'm afraid that no self respecting manager will work for us under the present situation. He will be on a hiding to nothing.
This is a weekend where, Balanta has played brilliantly, Camp saves a late penalty and Mancienne gets called up to the full England squad.
Why are we always a team of lost opportunities?

We need a new person to manage the team and money has to be spent if we want to realise the ambitions of the club owners. You cant have your cake and eat it. Daniel is out of the X Factor now perhaps he's available.

we are galloping down the khazie at an impress rate of knots.

im actually glad i didnt go yesteday against burnley ,i havent missed a game for ages but really lets all be honest we are shit ,i know it was utd tuesday but we didnt even have 1 shot on target seriously if we played a team in the conferance i garantee they would have at least 1 shot on target, also how the hell is gareth ainsworth gonna take us forward,we should of kept gigi di canio much more experience and no how,its so funny when you think were so rich and have a well below par team, fist thing first lets get a decent manager alan curbishley would be great look what he did at charlton? im absolutly sure he would be interested with the right conditions, lastly we seriously need a top striker, perhaps vela from arsenal on loan for now, also big shame about akos ,plz feel free to comment if you agree or disagree with me many thanks for reading this lifelong rrrrsss fan

Will you lot lewave it alone. All of you are just moaning because the club is trying to build a sustainable future unlike the fantasy island that is Stamford Bridge. Yes we have got money, so what, if Abramovitch gets bored, CFC go bust, full stop!

Do you honestly want us to be in that precarious position after the turmoil of the last 12 years?

If you don't have the patience to stick with the long haul that it will be to get QPR back to where I believe we should be, then stop whingeing and buy yourself at season ticket somewhere down the King's Road!!

dont think anyones moaning or will be buying a ticket down the kings road m8 dont ever insults rangers fans like that again surely u know thats a nono

John G.
If you are content then fine. Others aren`t.
"Fans" of your ilk get right up my nose. You want to spout blinkered rhetoric then you go ahead but don`t pretend you are a better fan than anybody else just because you are happy to be treated like a cashpoint by people that care nothing for this club or it`s fans.

i dont think any manager will be able to sort us out without a striker or 3 and some vocal encouragement from our silent loftus road which currently stinks of over-expectation. if we are going to have anyone it might as well be ainsworth. we played some good football in the first 20 mins against burnley but after our first goal nobody got behind the team and you could tell it made them nervous.

i just heard from close source in manchester tha mr daniel sturridge is coming on loan till end of season.
that would be a start to move things forward now!

Lads, stop the bickering. I am sure that if we are patient then we may get promoted in the next few years. be patient! Last year we were right in the financial sh*te...... now we are as rich as chelski. Surely that makes us happy?

Everone can say what they like but ainsworth is only going to be manager because he will pick who briatore wants in the team , end of . The team has not played well all season and has been fortunate with most of the home results , most of the visiting teams have looked better than us for most of the game . Until we get a top class striker we will continue to drop down the table . It seems like alot of supporters are content with not being at the bottom like last season , well wake up because with this team that's where we are heading . Also whatever player is getting a supposed £20k + a week i hope your happy with your contribution !!!

The squad is better than last season, Gareth is not a yes men,Flavio is not picking the team, opinions he has ,and so he should, and who is to say that bernie and the Mittals do not have there say.A good game saturday got beat by a better team that has been together longer than our mob,

Unfortunately the attention we get from the media is having a detrimental affect on our supporters.Last season was a nightmare up until the last 15 games. I was at the cardiff game last week, cardiff outsang us throughout the game. Because we have a bit of financial clout we expect our team to do well and sometimes dont get behind them. Were are the voices ?

we were crap and have been since the southampton game. couple of lucky wins against sides who didnt give a tosh at the moment they played against us. do you really seriously think we ll beat brums at the moment or villa.
nope.
ainsworth werent much of a player a good decent league one but not more. as a manager he is still learning and but he must get his lessons somewhere else. here he ll be skinned.

Feel sorry for Ainsworth. Briatore will be pulling the strings and when it blows up and goes all wrong then Ainsworth will be made the scape goat. Just like Dowie was he is on a hiding to nothing. Think we better get use to Ainsworth at the helm though as no decent manager with experience is going to take over with how the club is being run. I'm sure as a number 2 under a good manager then Ainsworth would develop into a very good coach but to throw him in at the moment is crazy. Just see another comment on here that we're getting Sturridge on loan from Man City. Yeah right!! We couldn't sign a 31 year old sick note from Bolton so no way is that going to happen. I for one am very grateful for how Briatore came in and rescued my beloved hoops but maybe all his talk about Champions League football was all abit tongue in cheek and should never have been spoken to the press. We shall see what the future brings but i wont be getting my hopes up any more.

John G, spot on, tired of hearing the non stop bullsh*t moaning. Too many rattles being thrown out of prams me thinks. Ashamed to be a rangers fan listening to some of this shite.

For anyone giving the old 'i didnt spend my hard earned money to see this' malarky, tough tits, had you listened to what the owners said then you would have heard that promotion targets were three years away.

How about you see if you can get a refund on your season ticket and save the money to spend on tickets when were winning! Fickle

Why do some think(after what we've been through) that promotion/sexy football is our god given right just cos a wealthy owner has taken over. A decent cup run and what looks like a safe season despite our two best players being out for the whole season. Things really are bad guys!

Im starting to hope that our owners bail out and leave us in the crap just to show you lot wot it is that you dont seem able to appreciate. The attitudes of some towards the people that are trying to point us in the right direction are disgusting.

Kings road may not be a bad idea for some cos these are not the attitudes that have kept our club afloat for the last ten years and i dont hink a lot of our fans deserve the good times that may be heading our way in the near future.

JD

It seems to me, that whatever people’s feelings are towards our new owners they have certainly divided opinion. You can sense the split from fans at the games and that can’t be helping the team when they need us to be united behind them. I also agree that having money does not equal sexy football . However, I have to stick my head up for the snipers in saying the football we played under Gigi was more attractive than that provided by either Dowie or Ainsworth and arguably with a lesser playing staff. We certainly need to by a striker who knows where the onion bag is (afraid Dexter is just not up to the job, in particular up front on his own) but other than that I think we look like a team low on confidence and nothing more. And we the fans are not doing much to change that. We have some tough games coming up in the next few weeks and they need us behind them. If we’re still in touch come January you never know. If you must have a pop at each other why not be a little more constructive?

Good luck to Ainsworth. I think he's going to be a very good manager for QPR. I think even Gary Waddock got a better reception when it was announced he was going to be manager, and that was on the back of losing 10 or so games. There are a lot of problems in the club, but we weren't going to turn into Wolves or whoever. Dowie should never have been appointed, granted, and the tickets were a mess, but they are (slowly) trying to put things right. Lets try to support the club and team?

That said, it was a very bad idea to loan out Balanta, unless another (top) striker comes in. Have to be positive though.

At the start of the year everyone was saying play-offs would be great. That's still definitely on!
