Dominic Shimmin Winner

-
BBC - Player prize for Morton youngster
Morton defender Dominic Shimmin has been named the Irn-Bru Phenomenal young player of the month for October.
Following a poor start to the season Morton rallied in October to record their first league win against Clyde.
And Shimmin, 21, played his part in the Greenock side's second successive win, over fellow strugglers Dundee.
Shimmin began his career with Arsenal, spent three seasons with QPR and had spells at Bournemouth and Crawley Town before joining Morton. BBC

From The Herald, October 27, 2008
"...Dominic Shimmin, the hosts' mightily impressive young defender, once of Arsenal's youth set-up, said: "It's the first time in my career I'm playing every week and I've no plans on moving. We'll see what happens at the end of the season. I want to show everyone I am capable at playing at a higher level."
Davie Irons, the Morton manager, quipped that chairman Douglas Rae had slapped a £5m price tag on Shimmin and might only entertain a bid from Spanish giants Real Madrid. Irons said: "He's only 20, the guy, but he's got tremendous composure and has the potential to be a right good player. ..." The Herald
