- Bookmakers have made ex-Portugal and Juventus star Paolo Sousa the odds-on favourite to be the next manager of QPR.
- One major firm slashed their odds on the 38-year-old becoming the next permanent boss at Loftus Road from 25-1 to 1-3 after taking a frenzy of bets.
- Sousa has been a dark horse in the running to replace Iain Dowie since chairman Flavio Briatore parted company with him and installed Gareth Ainsworth as his fourth manager, temporary or otherwise, since the new investors came in.
- The Portuguese coach is currently an assistant to Carlos Queiroz with the national team in Lisbon, but has obvious connections to Briatore's home country after several years spent in Serie A as a player with Juve, Inter and Parma.
